As said already matey your main problem is you need to create a scoop to grab the air into the intercooler the way it is designed at mo the air is gunna just rush past

The main problem is size/efficency of the cooler.

Im now up and running with a similar design so not to fill the boot and ecu with water but have no issue with charge temps due to a good intercooler. If running a scoop to the boot you need to relocate the ecu.

When i looked at owens at yours james, you guys had made that brill shroud for it to seal it so i doubt any water would get near ecu. Shamek skills on that project were fantastic. =D>

You would think so wouldnt you, we still had water ingress problems, i would bet my left arm that if you have that cooler tested it would be better using the stock one. It was removed from another car for the same reasons, if the new tuner reckons he can produce 80 hp from a better cooler some ign advancs and leaning the fuel it just confirms what the first tuner said only it would appear the cooler was a restriction as well as inefficient majorly affecting spool.

Allowing too much water in the boot by making a scoop is a mistake in my mind for what was sopposed to be a daily driver with 500 ponies.

did you guys find out anything about the cam set up with this? first power readings i heard weren't much above stanard mr2 turbo factory powers and that wouldn't be down to an intercooler flow problem unless someone welded it shut, lol

hahaha

Maybe oversized valves would've helped. Kinda suprised it wasn't done already with the rest of the spec.

Oh, and Elmo, that vid is sweet 8)

We have not had the car back at the workshop since T.J played with the cams during the mapping so i dont know.

Yep oversized valves would have been nice, im sure it was considered.

True true,
the cams have not been played with since TJ touched them.
Also james,i gotta point out,the car is solid as a rock still, even with the rev-limiter being used ofter
The build is brilliant.
I'll keep you posted on the findings matey. :)
