Not entirely sure why this thread is here. Surely it would be best kept off the forum, and discussed with the company that installed the engine?

I had a loose exhaust bolt on my old Charade Turbo which rattled at 2000rpm.

Shat myself thinking it was the bottom end before noticing it.

Just odd that the same noise on the last engine was bottom end failure. We shall see if its still there when I get it back.

more likely a similar noise and not the same, from your video (as i said previously) i didn't immediately think it was the bottom end, gaskets and heat shield and loads of other things can sound like all manner of faults, most peoples reaction is to assume the worst, either way, the car is away being fixed for you :thumleft:

Suprised no one has suggested a seized alternator. Would explain alot of noises and lights on dash. Had a good few in my time.

Coolant loss unfortunately will not be related to that. But the knocking, squealing and dash oights could be.

Its not so bad. No company was named, and from the sounds of if (so far) there's nothing as sinister as first thought.

Not a bad example for others to read about asking how and why, then with the ways its shaping - how that a supplier with a good name stands by his work. That and how all sorts of misinformation can be tossed in by well meaning but ill informed people.

Don't bin the thread.
