Its not to do with popularity per se, escort cossies are pretty rare cars, thats why you don't see many.

I would love one,

Not all that quick these days, but man they are rare and look awesome STILL.

They have held their value VERY well.

[off topic]

They can still hold there own against many of today's stuff. I did 18 laps round Silverstone in one years ago (it was about 50 quid or something, I was about 16 at the time) - they're proper rapid cars - love 'em. It was a completely standard small turbo one (without the whale-tale spoiler IIRC) and I had neck ache for days afterwards - due to my head being flung back (had a crash helmet on) everytime the drivers foot went anywhere near the loud pedal. Awsome cars. Still got it....

the thing with cosworth owners is they arent really into the "pimping" the outside of their car, just because it looks standardish doesnt mean its stock under the bonnet, you'll never know till you have a go with one, itll either be running poorly/badly, running stock power, or itll be a fire breathing monster that will make your mr2 look like its a toy car thats standing still

Agreed!

They are not all what the seem.

I mean powerwise and acceleration as standard are still quick, but not the CRAZY quick they were when they came out.

I have raced a few, 1 dead even, 2 i have been just blown away. As you said just like i was standing still.

However, its 4Wd and if you put it in the same race with modern cars of the like. Evo's, Sti's then you will see where development has come on in years!

As i said, i would still 100% buy one in a second.

Well if you paid 8K for that you'd be extremely fortunate to sell it for that over here.

Wow, £8k is serious money and it still needed a few bits doing i.e broken vent, scratches and lightly damaged front bumper. Newera are a good company though.

Unfortunately.......yes!!

Newera are one of the best importers about.....but not even they can stop people selling their cars for silly money.

As its been pointed out to me you can pick up Rev 4's for £4k. Not that i'd believe they would look anywhere near as good as this example.

The car looks excellent and.....12 months ago then yes i'd of bought it (if i'd had the money) at that price.

But.....In today's market your looking at, at least an instant £2k loss when you drive it away!

Not what you'd want to hear!!!! But thats the honest truth! :-#
