so if my comparison is right...

T88
At 4000, reading is 60
6000,---------- 191
8000,---------- 448
9500,---------- 570

GT3071
At 4000, reading is ~180
6000,---------- ~395
8000,---------- N/A
9500,---------- N/A

Yes mate. :thumleft:

Mine revs to 7200, so makes a fair bit more power after that, but you can definately see the advantages of a quick spooler like the GT3071 (says he thats taking one off to fit a GT3582r!).

Sorry to highjack James. Back to you dude.

Yeah thats cool. I just wanted a like for like on the RPM points we'd got from James' T88.

Looking forward to seeing what else is stumbled upon with this one. Not been a bad voyage of discovery so far! :D

Be interesting to see the T88's torque graph. Is it flat or peaky?

Get the graph up  8)

No torque graph unfortunately but it's pretty low.

Don't know how to scan but will try and take a picture of the
graph this evening.

Earl, was your run in 3rd gear and what boost was it running?

For comparison's sake, mine was run in 4th gear at 1.2 bar.

Thats one thing I don't get with these engines, they're complete lack of torque compared to other 2ltr 4 pots. :-k

Still impressive figures none the less. Looking forward to seeing what it is capable of in the real world now :thumleft:

I just put it down to the Yamaha designed head; bikes seem to lack torque, they play with revs! lol, 'tis a strange one though! oh, *cough* "their" *cough* lol

Pump fuel unless Rob put something else in and did not tell me. lol.

Seriously, i only put in v-power from Shell. (optimax)

I wonder if i can drive the car without the boot lid :-k :)
It'll solve the heat problem.

Rob did a run with 1.8 bar but ....

Vaguely. If i remember correctly, he was running over 2 bar and
from the video that he posted up, it doesn't idle that well. But
that's some machine.

He ran 2.5bar to get the 704whp

So what happened with the 1.8bar run :?:

I hope i haven't misheard Rob but I think he said that run went over the limits of the dynamometer.
I'm sure he's done more powerful skylines there.

Skylines you mention are 4WD so it measures both front and back power.

Rollers there can do approx 700-750hp each end so a possible total of 1500.

Just a quick question, where did you get this car from?? Was it a special import from japan?
