Mr299ron, are you still running standard intercooler? Can't see anywhere in your thead that you've changed this

I bought a toyota gasket last minute and is currently on the car so I will take a look. Stupid question, but can I re-use this gasket?

odin, yes Im still using the stock ic. Although I'm trying to source a decent one at the moment. There's a second hand Greddy ic on eBay for £350 I might try and steal for a little less than £300.

On the other hand, It is fine imo (and upon research) to be running a stock ic at this point. The weather has dropped quite significantly recently and I'm not going overboard considering my current setup. The engine has been treated well since I bought it, consisting of a full tune up. I've bought everything from the dissy cap to a fuel filter change.

I personally don't see an issue with a stock ic atm running 15psi on the street. I will be getting one next month, but at the moment it's fine.

Cannot emphasis how much you need to change the intercooler before you start messing around with any boost pressure.

Especially since you still have the Rev 1/2 HG.... you'll see

Let me guess, you bought a cheap downpipe rather than spending a couple of extra quid for a Berk or other known product?

Japspeed is cheap and cheerful. Tesco value if you will.

It works, but it's not good quality stuff.

Japspeed is just rebranded stuff from China - SSAC/XS Power/Toyo Sport etc.

You want a Berk decat ideally. :thumleft:

Dammit, I thought japspeed was that tier above the ebay crap:/ I like berk but you can only buy their stuff from the usa it seems.

I'm not sure if "Japspeed" is deliberate so people confuse it with "Janspeed" who IIRC used to make quality exhausts years ago for all the hot hatches

I've emailed gts chris on a few things, but he hasn't had anything. Trust it to be the one thing he has I don't check for!

Thx for the heads up.

I had the same issue when i switched mine out, by installing a restrictor ring and an ebc i have managed to curb mine, after fiddling about with the gain settings i managed to keep it between 0.97 and 1.05 bar
