Anything with a YB Cosworth engine is amazing, my dream car has to be a sierra rs500 in moonstone blue. Sadly they are serious money nowadays and there are not many nice ones left.

This 100%

Yeah, I'd agree with that!

I got to the point where driving a 400+ as a daily drive I just didn't enjoy it. But now the mr2 is a weekend toy I enjoy it soooo much more!! Especially now as classic car insurance is so cheap it's cheaper me having 2 cars than just running the mr

I get it after a few months with most cars, I always end up back behind the wheel of something FWD and hottish hatch.

I just bought a Rover 25 GTI just because it was there I was bored of the Land Rover and MR2 just sits there and can sit there until some decent weather actually rears its head.

The Rover owes me next to nothing and its actually quite fun to drive while also doing 30+ mpg.

Althou am always looking for that next just incase car.

I fancy somat hot-hatchy. I get so bored of the MR2, I end up changing stuff just for the sake of it.

Fancy a clio 197 cup or somat to that effect.

Booked in for MOT tomorrow, going to see how that goes. If it fails on anything not easy to fix I'm going to look for a lock up and start breaking it I think :(

Took it out a wee spin today for the first time in months, there's no Stevie love left for MR2's I'm afraid

Whilst this is very sad to hear because it's a beautiful car, dibs on the bonnet ;)

That aside, what is it that's boring you about it? The oomph? The looks?

Haha I'll give you a shout dude

I don't know, I guess it just doesn't interest me anymore, it's fun in the corners, got a good bit of go but I just can't be bothered with it anymore.

I think I just want some hassle free motoring that's fun. I honestly don't know what I'll end up in next, but I've got some shi*y news, need to talk to the missus first before I say anything else though

Anyone owned a scooby wagon? What they like on fuel compared to an MR2?

This is a good site to look at for an idea as per mpg

http://www.car-emissions.com/cars/model/SUBARU

Looks like its roughly 30 mpg if driven carefully :-k

How did the mot go?

I guess at least it would sell easier with a nice clean mot :-k
You've got to do what's right for you and your situation at the end of the day

It's ashame it's not a good time to sell these. If you don't need the money from the sale to invest in another it might be worth dry storing it for a couple of years ... Besides - in that time you may find a new love for it :D

Why are you thinking of a scooby out of interest?

Always fancied a Scooby, just need a car to get around over the winter, fancy something that might be a wee bit of fun :)

Unfortunately, these cars seem to go for more in bits than in one piece :(

Might put it back to stockish and sell most of the nice parts I've collected for it (AP Eng PFC, GT2860, carbon bits, gauges, coilvers etc)

i drove a 2.5 2006 WRX (non-sti) and it was quite nice to drive, a bit more modern inside, traction out of corners nice but gotta be careful with the throttle - otherwise you will go wiiiiiiiiiiide. This car was stock so probably with a couple mods could improve it. Pretty fast even with the 220-ish HP in the non-STI version - 4wd helps it get 5.5 to 60 or something like that.
Very practical tho, especially the wagon! I'm considering it next year when I can sell the CTR :)

The one I'm looking at is pretty stock, apart from an exhaust system.

Not really wanting to modify it, it'll just be a runabout car.

To be honest it was pretty quick even stock - just getting into one from a MR2 might be a shock to the system if you try to corner quickly somewhere. They seem to be pretty solid otherwise...
