while fitting the exhaust today I felt the belt and I could easilly turn it 90 deg, infact I could turn it about 160 - 180 before it was putting up much resistance. Going to tighten it asap.

Anyone got any tips as it looks Very tight in there

Also When the squeaking starts if I press the clutch it seems to stop.. Is this normal or could it indicate something inside the gearbox??

Thanks

to get the belt tight, i wedged my torque wrench against the rhs of the alternator and the head/block, and ankered it so i could put force on the alternator itself and pull/pivot the whole unit to the left, and with the other hand, i tighted up the adjusting lock bolt....that kept it in place.

then just done up that long adjusting bolt so it was flat against the bracket, ie if the lock nut ever got loose, the adjusting bolt would kept it in place.

then i tightened the long pivot bolt....
really needed a second pair of hands to riggle that pivot bolt in for the put back together process, got the misses to hold it for me (oohhh errr :eye: )...

loosened the side lock bolt, got under the car and loosened the Pivot bolt which was already loose and tightened the adjuster bolt up untill the belt could only just be turned 90 deg in the middle (which im guessing is the longest point?) by hand (took a good few turns  ).

Tightened the bolts back up and Started the car and still squeaking but again when clutch is pressed about 5mm in squeaking stops so Im guessing its something internal in the clutch area?

Will post a video up soon.
