For the same BHP and TORQUE, an MR2 would beat an EVO in pretty much any test.

What tends to happen, is that the 4WD cars have more BHP and TORQUE.

I mean, take a 1994 Subaru Impreza Turbo, 212bhp -vs- 1993 Rev2 Turbo, similar bhp. The Impreza is listed as 6.4 0-60 and 144 top speed.

A stock MR2 Rev2 will nudge under 6 to 60mph and push closer to 150mph.

Not the case. The MR2 if driven well will launch every bit as fast as an evo  The engine placement really does work wonders on the MR2

Disagree all you like.......At TOTB 2005 I managed the fastest 60ft time of any car on the day! 1.4 seconds  Baring in mind that I wasn't running anything like the power I am now. I can also tell you that the MR2 is often bumped up in to the 4WD catagories when drag racing out in Jap land, because of it's launching ability.

Which is why I said once the power levels increase this will become even more noticeable, where did the MR2's come overall at TOTB?

Look at this 771bhp evo http://www.norrisdesigns.com/demo7.asp

If you remember, the 630bhp Rogue tuned MR2 recently ran a 10.9. The evo has 140bhp more and only rund 0.4 seconds faster.

Do the maths dude!

This whole notion of EVO's being all there is to drive is total nonsense.

I offered AIDY out in his FQ340 and he girled off like a yellow coward. Anyone else out there want to put this to bed finally and stump up their EVO and take the challenge?? ...or do all EVO's come with pills to fool you into thinking you have an untouchable car? We are all interested in the FACTS but looking at anything other than stock-for-stock brings spurious opinion into the equation.

Bring your EVO's out boys! The MR2's are all here waiting. This is OUR forum, so please tell me you have more than " ](*,) " and 'oh please'?

Please tell me there is more than that???

What's that got to do with anything if we're talking about launching!? :?

My car was only running 330bhp @ the hubs at the time. I was up against EVO's running well over double that figure.

Another example of 4WD 60ft times for you would be Fensports vehicles. They also run a best of 1.6 60ft Again comparable to the MR2 when driven well :)

Can I ask as to your own personal experiences when it comes to drag racing or any other form of motorsport? Have you ever got your toes wet or are you an arm chair know all?

Having owned three MR2's (two turbo's), been a member of IMOC for a number of years gives me an insight into both cars abilities and strengths and when it comes to being a more focused point to point raod car the Evo has it in spades.

As suspected...your an arm chair dreamer who knows very little first hand. I have nothing but respect for the evo as a car, I personally really like the evo 6 as it just looks mean as hell. They are fantastic cars it has to be said, but for driver involvement the MR2 wins hands down :thumleft:

Anyway not to get too far off topic...... this was about launching was it not? That being said you have no argument ;)

YET another yellow EVO driver turning up and then skulking away.

Where do you people live? Let's have a meet and put your medallion emblazened chest wigs away and take these toys out for some fun?

As soon as cards are put on tables we always get

"My evo is just better so NUR-NUR see you later"

Puk-AArrk!

Even if that does turn out to be the case you'll have to wait until the DVD comes out to see it for yourself as theirs no way you'll be part of the team #-o

Just looking at your profile, are you saying you want to run your 3k rev2 charriot against my Evo?
