KO racing is referring to USDM Rev2. Their ecus are mapped for crap quality fuel. Just take the plunge and go with rev3 management. No point messing about trying to make 300bhp with 440s. :thumleft:

aghhh your right i dont know why i keep looking at everything else!

i take it there will be a guide somewhere for the pin outs to help me adapt the rev 2 loom to rev 3 ecu?

should imagine il need a spot of help with fitting the chargecooler, im going to guess its not a straight fit and il need to make up some of my own fittings and piping?

is the gt4 chargecooler onto mr2 a common enough thing?

im still undecided with turbos! i really want a garrett t3 or even the gt28 you suggested but im not savvy with turbo's and alot say their designed to run from 350 to xyz power. if im sitting between 250-300 will it be an issue?

cost of a garrett new against a 2nd hand ct20b is a no brainer to me..

No just use an mr2 ecu. The st205 ecu just has the pump control which isn't needed. If you come across one you could use it but you'll have a check engine light unless you wire in the pump control. Gt4 chargecooler is a very popular mod. Nobody bothers with the ecu though.

T3 (gt3071/76) is completely overkill. Gt28 will spool well. It will cost over £1000 for the turbo alone (providing it's genuine) then you'll need a manifold adapter (or t2 manifold) and a downpipe. Downpipe will need made to fit. Easiest option by a long way is fitting a CT20 :thumleft:

to get 300bhp

Metal HG
Rev 3 management and fuelling
CT20b
Either GT4 charge cooler or an uprated intercooler with decent fan
1,2bar boost.
AFR gauge to keep an eye on everything

Been looking at this myself and also commented on fb.

Iv spent the day looking more and more into the gt4 charge cooler, iv also arranged to collect a core with pump and pipe work for ££100, good price?
Just need to find out what else I need! Ahh I see, so just need to wire in a switch that will run off I dunno a temp sensor to kick the pump when it's hot or??

Just realised the 'gt28' turbos iv been looking at are fake Garrett's from the likes of China so I should imagine I will stick well clear of them.. Im really keen for the gt28, supposing I find s good 2nd hand one, do you think it'll be fine sitting below 300?

Also just want to add you've been s great help so far sheppy. Really appreciate it :thumleft:

You'll get a genuine garrett from owen developments...I've mixed reviews on their customer service. Along with that you'll need a t2 (unless they can do a t3 flanged housing) adapter and you'll need to get a custom downpipe made, oh and oil/water lines. I would wire your CC pump to the ignition so it's on all the time. The charge temp can never be too cold.

Righteo, il decide on turbo once iv got the engine back , parts in and built up, picking up cc potentially this weekend, maybe next, just need injectors then il worry about fcd, controller and gauges once turbo depletes my entire budget... ](*,)

You won't need a FCD with rev3 management. Fuel cut is 19psi which is more than you need. :thumleft:

The ATS GT28RS Stealth Kit would be my suggestion based on what you've written. http://www.atsracing.net/Parts/Index/GT28RS

So you don't need to uprate the fuel pump for 300bhp?

Water/meth is a bit overkill for 300bhp. It gives you a lot of anti det protection allowing you to run more advanced timing, etc. under boost but is another thing to make sure is kept topped up to prevent your engine going pop. Would also need an EMS to allow it to be remapped to make use of the setup.

Water/meth 50/50 gave me loads of extra performance 25hp easy .. its not extra its not losing performance to heat soak .. and discus :thumleft:
