absolutley agree. I had some very rare 'jdm' ohlins (out of the phoenix power catalogue) when I got my Rev 3 and they were awful. Rock hard no matter where the damping was set. It made the car skittish with no progressive control. Probably perfect for the race track but useless on UK roads. I think people go overboard with coilovers, as 80% of people will put them on and never adjust the height or damping ever again! So short of the weight saving they are no different to a fixed strut. Personally I find stock bilstein on a decent lowered spring more than capable in most road situations but its all individual opinion

Most of the JDM suspension is made in taiwan anyway, personally if I was going to get coilovers I wouldnt bother with tein. Either the H&R coilovers or the KW Variant 3.

KW do their R&D on the nordschleife, they make the only double adjustable coilover for the mr2 and i'm sure they can provide you with shock dyno results for the dampers.

Btw dont the TRD coilovers allow you to use the normal strut inserts? If they did i'd put my konis into them and get some saner springs put in.
