Just got home after the best part of 8 hours on the road (in a poxy Van) to get them. #-o
They have 225/40 at the back and 205/40 at the front with 3mm spacers all round. Will find out in the morning if they fit ok. I bought them of another MR2 own so should be cool (I hope)

Yeh that will work fine mate its just that if you dont have the 3mm spacers the wheels rub the brake caliper just make sure you get the spacers central to the hub so you dont un-ballance the wheels.

I had to modify the speaker surounds with in the new door cards by cutting away the inner plastic circle as previously i had a ICE instal fitted and they have put in Speaker rings which extend out atleast a inch.

Job done tho :-)

And the wheel's are on :-)
They need a paint job, but that can wait untill it gets warmer. Also for the rear's i need to get shorted wheel nuts as i have used the Standard Rev 3 wheel nuts that stick out about 2 inches.

Does any one know how big i can go with Spacer's on the back? Is 10mm to much? And is it not advisable to add another 3-5mm space to the 3mm one's im already using?

I was looking at and have been quoted for 25mm spacers for the rear and 5mm spacers for the front. inc new wheel nuts all in for £165
as i said i have 235s on rear so you could probably come out a bit more.

DONT ADD to the 3mm spacers get the right spacers for the job.

Its looking good though mate :thumleft:

If your ever looking for a AMMMMAZING Body shop, google CUSTOM EXOTICS, Harlow, Essex. http://www.customexotics.co.uk/

Iv delt with them many a time with in the trade, and in my days working for FUEL. For example we had a contract with X-Box to help promote the X-box and various games at events and show's across Europe. One brief in 2007 was for the driving game JUICED 2.

We built a exact replic of one of the car's from the game and then took it around show's across europe. Oh and we build it all in a week.

check out some of my handy work with a video camera in these 2 video's ;-)

I picked these wheel's & tires up off ebay for at a bargin £165, but they seriously needed a paint job! :-s
Image
Image

So after quotes of £250 upwards for refurbing being a Tight ar$e i set about doing the job myself :-)
First step, removing the paint with 80 grade Wet n Dry paper
Image

Then getting a smooth finish with 240 grade
Image
Image

Next the Primer.
3 coats of this with a light sanding between coats 2 & 3 with 1000 grade paper
Image

Then the shiney bit :-)
I used VW Silver from Halfords, because people had told me the specialist wheel paint is CRAP, and doesnt look matalic.

Again 3 light coats of this with a light sanding between coats 2 & 3
Image

Finally, a whole can of Clear lacque done in 4 or 5 coats, with 15min between each one and no sanding. Im pretty sure 2 coats might be enought but HAY, its shiney :-)

Even tho the tires wall's where totally masked with masking tape and clear packing tape some silver got through, but some warm soapy water and a abrasive sponge cleaned them up.

Job done! :thumleft:

 Yep, haha!

Well any tiny minor defects or inperfections left after santing get totally hidden, plus it adds such a better look then just the silver.

I will be trying to just use 1 more for the last 2 wheel's tho.

Hmmm but HEY, there only £7 a can

1 can each for the win then :thumleft: ....... if you dont the GF will only complain

Dont forget to apply a good wax like meguiars wheel wax.......laquer takes ages to properly set and brake dust loves fresh paint. :thumleft:

SPORT RELIEF MILE – London
(Altho I did 3 miles)

WOW What a great day. I woke up with no hange over, bright blue skies, warm and Spring like,
and me and the Boss (girlfriend) Went down to the Thames / Victoria Embankment for the Sport Relief mile.
Image

My new wheel's

Image

One of my claims to fame is one of my best mates is the guy that coached Eddie Izzard,
who was running all of the 1st miles of all the races today, so I said hello and being his 8th or 9th one
he asked if I would tag along with him because he was flagging (it was Hot, and he hasn’t run for months).
So I ran along chatting, also waving and on lookers making out I was someone special lol
Image

Job done! :thumleft:
Image

Then being such a great day, after a well deserved (two) pint in the Walk-About we took in a few of the tourist sights
Image
Image

Not something you see everyday, pretty amazing watching one of the London Air Ambulances land and take off
in a packed and relatively small cross roads, but a little sad knowing it must have been for a unpleasant reason
Image

Knackered now!! :silent:
