Re: [Mk2] [NA] which N/A exhaust
Does an NA Blueflame catback have a noticeable growl around town and at lower revs or is it basically standard sounding until giving it some?
Re: [Mk2] [NA] which N/A exhaust
louder than standard but doesnt upset the neibours and when you give it some beans it comes alive and no nasty droan on the motorway, suits me fine then again i never really go on the motorway anyway so one that droaned wouldnt be so bad good system for the money.

she's all comming together nicely now after a fair bit of cash spent, not bad for just an n/a now for some body kit i think.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] which N/A exhaust
i've had: janspeed, japspeed and kakimoto, may fave was the kakimoto but it met a sad end on track, the japspeed did look mean but with no cat and my 4-1 system it was offensively loud, i'm back to the dependable janspeed now, not the flashiest thing to look at but the best fitting of all 3 i've had, makes 94db on test and makes a lovely raspy noise, tempted by a mongoose as i miss the big shiny bit

Re: [Mk2] [NA] which N/A exhaust
i just fitted a sebring backbox and blueflame decat.
the pipes are 3inch inward rolled.
the come straight out the back and not angled like some other makes.
will get pics later.
the car feels alot more responsive now with a slightly deeper tone but nowhere near the tone of a japspeed! well worth a look.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] which N/A exhaust
I have a full decat Mongoose on my NA and I love it.
I wanted bigger tips than the standard trumpets and a slightly more fruity tone without being obnoxious and too loud.
I wanted something that wouldn't draw attention from passers by if I was just pootling around town
(I didn't want to sound like a chav) but when I was giving it some beans would sound nice.

The Mongoose is very quiet on tickover with a lovely burble, up to 3k RPM it's perfectly acceptable and then goes nuts from about 4k
- 8k! I'm very happy with mine and the build quality is good.
I'll try to get some videos later.

On the motorway it isn't intrusive unless you give it full throttle, and with my music on at around 70mph I can barely hear the exhaust
- main sound is the cone filter sucking in air.
Under full throttle though it does get very loud, however I think that is more down to the induction sound rather than the exhaust.

Hope that's of some help? I was looking for user opinions when I wanted this exhaust and realised the lack of video examples of exhausts on here!

I would recommend the blueflame the mongoose has a different design now as you can see here

and I had a custom built and lost 11bhp on the rollers where the blueflame isnt too noisy and I am making the power on the rollers I have had 5 systems on my car including a mongoose and magnex but the flame is my favourite.

Bump for videos!

Re: [Mk2] [NA] which N/A exhaust
I'll try and get one of mine up, Blueflame with de-cat and 4-1 manifold, Very Civilised unless you want it to be loud, 80mph Motorway it can be a little loud but i think thats my manifold not the Backbox.

Build quality is top notch, mine has alot of use and rarely gets looked at and it still cleans up perfect.
