just noticed the piece at the end of the crank
with a hole in it which is not in the damaged pic.

Would this have anything to do with the balancing?

:thumleft:

Did perfect touch mention any break up at all in the ign when it was mapped?

You still on the standard coil?

Cheers Michael.

All up and running now James

BTW - the collar in the end of the crank was made up to ensure the crank could be centred on the lathe when machining it down.

Million thanks, Nathan. Looks like a job well done.
Can't wait to drive it now.
Might take it to Japfest at Santa Pod on the 24th. Jun

Michael, Perfect Touch didn't mention any break down
in the ignition. You can tell by the graph, i suppose.
If there was any ignition problem, it wouldn't be such a
smooth plot. Having said that, i think the real test is running
it at 2 bar boost.

Still on OE coil.

Good stuff :thumleft:

I hope youve got a neck brace ready when you wind the boost up 8)

Oh and ONLY 2bar on the T88.... Why so low :clown:

Wont you be needing to find a new dyno as you maxed perfect touch out at 1.8bar

You planning on TOTB?

Would be awesome to see your car there bud :thumleft:

lovely car mate , i know that one well, serious peice of kit!!!

i see alot of similarities in mine with your car mine runs a stock mr2 ecu that has been played with by spl and a aftermarket wiring loom!!

the stock ecu is piggy backed with a hks f- con v pro aswell, interesting, i guess its so you can keep al the stock features, and sensors, is your idling still rough, mine struggles on the first start and stalls when cold, but on second start it runs fine not lumpy at all,

i have just finshed doing some work on mine as the headgasket went and i took the oppurtunity to do some further mods which im hoping will benefit well!!

after a few issues the car i now up and running, but im plagued by a serious overfuelling problem on idle now and im still trying to get to the bottom of it, but ive tried most thing already and no luck, i know how you feel,

loose again. Can't understand it :-k

Going to get drunk ( on coke)

Hello alpha mr2. Hope you find a solution to your problem
soon. Who does your mapping? Must meet up and compare notes
when we get our cars running. :thumleft:

Post by alpha mr2 »

yeah we definately should, usually it would be me, i would do my own but as i am not allowed the hks software a freind does it, but i am thinking of binning it all together and getting a ecu that i can monitior all the time , its about time hks got themselves of there perch!!!

aparently so i have heard thats what there doing!!! coz there losing to much business!! lol

the new hks ecu will come with its cd for mapping like all others nearly now!!

tell me a little more about your car i have worked on a fair few heavy tuned mr2's now and i know some very reliable sources in japan who can find info for you if you need it!! what have you had done or what has happend??

add me on your msn [email protected]

good luck with the car i wanted to do totb too ive missed so much over last few monthes but ive been plagued with problems before that it was fine, the engine and all are sound now absloloutly perfect ive just got a little gremlin in my electrics and when i find it im gona strangle the little bu88er,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
