Anti Roll bar break

Post by goodfella »

Hi all,

Please bare with me as this is being relayed to me via my dad....

My knowledge is limited but after hearing a slight banging/rattling from the front right hand side wheel I found that the Anti-roll-bar (i think it is) has snapped. Can this be welded or does it come in sections where part of it can be replaced etc?

Im sorry I cant be clearer but the car is back in Brum now whilst Im in London so I havnt even seen it for myself.

Thanks

If the bar itself has snapped it may be better to get a decent one from a scrappy. :-k

The front anti roll bar is quite substantial so is unlikely to have broken, however the u-shaped brackets that hold it on are known to corrode and break. The u-shaped brackets are available fairly cheaply from Toyota, if the anti-roll bar really has broken then you will need a second hand one to replace it :thumleft:

its also common for the chassis to rot where the arb is mounted so the chassis may need welding up and the arb re attaching, its very unlikely the arb itself has broken.
