[Mk2] [NA] Where to fit Intech Valve

Post by mark.pt »

Hi Guys

I work for a motorcycle company and found this laying about.

http://www.urbaneracing.co.uk/single.htm?ipg=6227

The valve has offered good results on motorcycles so thought I would give it a try on my car.

Can please advise which hose I should connect this to as I'm a bit unsure.

Thanks for any input and I will post an outcome once fitted.

honestly I don't see it working since the car makers would fit it themselves if it did all that

I know there were some good results on the bikes when we sold them. Anyone know best hose to connect to as I would like to try it for myself. If it's no good I will give give it back to work as it didn't cost me anything.

yeah, i don't mean to seem cheeky but it seems like one of those scam things you get on ebay, magnets on the fuel line etc....

seems like a bit of a fad, i've no idea where you would fit it??

there's that many vac lines on these cars.

We bought a few from the manufacturer called urbane. We have stopped dealing with them recently and it's just old stock we had left.

vaccum hose is on the top of the engine. I'd connect it there to test it. Its the one that you can pull off without unclamping etc

Advert wrote:Reduces emissions by up to 70% (varies with each model)

Two things to note.

1: If they're that good, they'd be selling the rights off to every auto manufacturer going, making billions whilst sitting on their bums.

2: up to and there's the answer. Up to. It might reduces emissions by 0.0001% and the advert can still legally stand.

Also, and this is a pet hate of mine lol, their advert contains more than a few spelling mistakes. It just doesn't sit right that a professional company would have a website with mistakes in it.

Anything thats placed in the path of a vacuum or airflow line will increase restriction to that line.

This is bad as ,for instance, if you restrict the vacuum from the turbo compressor to the wastegate actuator, it will alter the opening pressure of the wastegate. A restriction in an instrument gauge line would lead to a incorrect reading..etc...etc....

Even if you fit a large cylinder to a vacuum line (which is what that thing looks like), all it will do is cause turbulence inside it and therefore effect the pressure / rate of the flow.

They are a load of crap bud!

Usually on na cars, i think they advise fitting them on the vacuum from the intake plenum to the brake servo. however i dont like the idea of altering anything connected to the servo as if it goes wrong, you could end up with non functioning brakes!!

Theres loads of vacuum lines on the mr2 bud. perhaps stick it on the one that connects from your plenum to your BOV , then see if it alters the operation of the bov??

I know the person that invented these, what do you want to know?
He has ceased trading as mentioned. as the years spent reducing emissions have contributed to an agressive form of cancer in his face and brain... he is really struggling but im sure he would appreciate any questions. I will ask him anything? maybe get him to sign up and chat himself.

You're about 5 years late to this party, look at the date on the post previous to yours....
