Tubular Exhaust Manifold

Does anyone know where I can get a tubular manifold from?! Have looked for a while and don't seem to have any luck. Any one want to sell one? Or at least know where I can get my hands on one.

Its generally acknowledged that Mr T did a pretty ggod job with the original manifold - there's plenty of bits to spend money on before you need to swap the manifold

Thanks for that! Yea I've rebuilt the engine a few times. Got cams in, I fully gas flowed the head, bored to 1630cc, 10:1 compression. So, where do most people get there manifolds from?

I don't think I've ever seen any manifolds for the 4age, but then most mr2 owners choose to swap or use forced induction rather than modify the 4age.

Your best bet would be to try the corolla forums, they seem more into the 4age tuning.

As MartG said toyota probably did a good job from the offset. But as your motor is beyond what most would consider light tuning and past what toyota designed this manifold for. You could look at some of the later more powerful 4age's, who knows maybe the later 20v exhaust mani flows better.

Last resort would be a custom fabricated manifold. But be careful to use a performance engine specialist, n/a engines are tempermental to changed to exhaust manifolds. They must either calculated accurately as to what lengths of tubing are required and when they merge or use a trial and error method, to make full use of the scavenging effect.

They are around, but not many... There are definitely more manifolds available for the Mk1 from the States (they call them exhaust headers over there) which you could purchase and get sent over. Unfortunately I don't have any links on my office computer, but a search on the US OC should bring up a few options.

i fitted a corrola manifold to mine, seemed to work well. needed a little tweaking but i think thats because it was made wrong in the first place! i got it off ebay.com

I was browsing on Nengun the other day and they've got a GReddy manifold there for an NA, I couldn't say if it's any good. Although it is a fetching shade of blue...

nope someone had welded the flange on at the wrong angle as it hit the sump good and proper. so i had to cut it and tig it back together. the corrola has the same sump im sure and even if it didnt there wouldnt be enough room left for the sump it was that far out!

yeah that looks like the one but i got it for only about £115 delivered so shop around on ebay.com as they can be had cheaper. a budget for s mid section as its not a direct fit at all to the rest of the system.
