anyone seen this site, shows the roof chop can be done !!!

Any ideas if this car is completed?

There's a thread on the MK1 Club forum about a convertible mk1.
Paul Woods (who is responsible for the car in your link) posted on the thread. Turns out that unfortunately the car was never finished, and was scrapped.

Shame really, would have been very cool. 8)

Yep,my old project car,too rusty and needed too much work to complete but we proved a convertible is totally doable,if anyones thinking of doing the same start with a Tbar,the coupes are too weak when you take the roof off.

There was a factory in the states that produced a limited run of convertable LHD MK1's just after they were first released. I think there were about 6 of them?
IMOC-UK - the only club to win 'Best Club Stand' at JAE more than once, and twice in a row!

they produced 15 of them,of which only 3 are known to be still around.
