[Mk2] [Turbo] Hesitation

Post by mcoppen »

I am getting a really big stutter/hesitation on half throttle betwen 3-4k rpm. It does not no it on full throttle and does it just as the boost starts to build at half throttle. Any ideas? leads/plugs/dist are all new. Lambda sensor?

Doesnt happen on full throttle?

yeah could be lambda.

You need the 4 wire one for rev3, pretty cheap here:

Well easy to install, even i managed it. just cut the wires and reconnect to the new wires, they even give you a diagram and wire connectors! :thumleft:

No on full throttle it pulls perfectly. Might give lambda ago then. Last thing to change.

could be a leaky dump valve??

my mate had this problem on his 2, on half throttle the dump valve couldn't make up it's mind weather to be open or shut, result?? half open, it was down to a worn spring(the one that was meant to keep it closed) if it's the standard toyota dumpy then it won't be this, worth checking though.
