Hello
Just read a previous post of Stefs about removing the small side a rear windows (mk2 mr2)
I need to replace my rear and drivers small side window as some little £$%& decided to smash them.
Are there any other little hints to help me out along the way, and will the "bonding" of the rear window be fairly straight forward?
Cheers for any help

Hi mate,
I can't comment on the rear window as this is something I've never done, but might be able to help with the rear quarter window.
Below are two photographs of the offside window.
Removal is straight forward.
Once the interior trim is removed six fixings and a bonding agent hold the window in place.
Three are friction fit near the triangular plastic piece and then three around the window are held in place by 3 x 10mm nuts.
The black bonding mastic type sealent is a challenge.
Some force is needed as well as a heat gun or hair dryer to soften it.
Start to finish shouldn't take longer than 15 to 20 minutes.
Refitting is reversal of the above bar using an appropriate black sealent to fit the glass in place.
Not a job I've seen talked about much on here in fairness.
I guess you have to be pretty unlucky to have a quarter window damaged by some low-life.

Cheers for that reply bud.
Yeah low-life little sh!t took both windows out. ....shame i wasnt around when he did.....
Yeah I'm definately gonna have a go at the side window, i've nothing to lose (literally! there's no glass there!)
The rear sounds like, and physically is, more of a challenge.
If anyone can offer any advice on the rear that'd also be appreciated.
Cheers again mate

Do you have fully comp insurance? Broken glass is normally covered with a small excess, usually £50 and no effect on you NCB etc.

no mate, just TPFT
Trim...
Ok, you got to:
1. Remove the doorway lining plastics and anything else that will restrict you removing the roof carpet
2. Undo the plug to the upper brakelight (assuming you have one at the top)
3. Undo all the bolts you have just revealed and remove the plastic outer edge of the exterior of the roof
4. Remove all engine cover panels
From there, you will be able to see all the screws holding the rear window in. It sounds a long-haul job but realistically shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to replace. If you get a replacement glass from a scrapyard not only will it be cheaper but you can practice!

Make a nice airscoop out of them for the intercooler and the air filter
