[Mk2] [Turbo] Wing mirror not playing the game!

Post by Deano2915 »

Left side wing mirror has packed up. It won't move the mirror. Is it a simple fuse i should be looking for or a relay or more?

Both mirrors are driven by the same fuse, so if one working, it won't be the fuse.

What revision? Early cars are well known for breaks in the door loom from constant flexing from door opening/closing...

If not a break in the door loom. it may be the mirror control unit - when I installed folding mirrors I had only one mirror folding - unfortunately the only way to test is to try another.

Could of course be the wing mirror more itself, but this is less likely.

I have assumed you are referring to the mirrors not folding and not the glass movement?

Ignore my post then :eye:

Might be worth checking the slider switch thingy in the door unit, but this isn't likely to be at fault. As Peter says, a break in the door loom wiring, multimeter time :)
