Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Or get a disposable camera and put it in your glovebox......sod waiting for all the exposures to be used......
I wouldn't like to carry an expensive camera in the car...could get nicked..
There's some footage from an externally mounted bullet camera in an mr2oc thread - they recorded it with a camcorder with AV inputs. I just wanted something a bit more automatic that wouldn't require having to move the seat back to get into the storage box and press the record button every single journey.
I've been doing this for trackdays for years now
If you want something 'automatic', have you considered a security system VCR type setup?
WTF's happened here, who wrote that? I've never done a trackday in my life I wrote the bit in the inner quote
And to whoever wrote it, yeah the security types do tend to record immediately, but VHS tape based systems are a bit bulky and VHS quality sucks
Jonny C, apols mate - t'was me I clicked on the wrong button when replying
But getting back on topic - I use a setup based on :

Feeding into the AV input on a Canon MV 650i. This gives me top notch footage to edit later. As the recording is tape-based, it isn't really bothered by vibrations etc from the car and driving.
heh its all bonus from here in. you get your car repaired with new/good parts and theres no work involved. badger the insurance company every day untill they settle.
great news another mk1 saved.
let me know if you need anything. i have finally got round to breaking my mk1a .
why not bring it along to bromley on the 26th i`ll be there with loads of mk1s and mk2s
