Which of the Cheaper Rear Wheel Arches are the Best Fit?

Post by Bazzbiggles »

Hi All, I intend to replace my rusty rear wheel arches over the winter months and I’m wondering which of the cheaper wheel arches are the best fit. I’m not after a concourse finish but for it to look tidy. I’ve heard that Datsun Cherry 3 door and Toyota Corolla outer arches and that Mk3 Fiesta inner arches fit. Are there any others and which are the best?

Thanks.

I’ve just found note I made that Rover Maestro rear arches also fit.

we have always used mk1 corolla or datsun cherry N12 model 3 door rear arches to repair them, they do need alteration to fit but are under £20.The end result is as good as the original arch.

Don't use ford arches, the outside lip is huge and looks totally out of place,in other words it doesn't match the front arch lip thickness.

Paul,

I might get you to fit these to mine when you do them next year, £20 a side for the metal sounds good.
How much would you charge to replace the rear arches to mine and paint.

Cheers

Sorry michael, forum rules prevent me from saying. But the price has got a few zeros and a 4 in it for both including painting.

Hi Steve,

Its my new MK1 'A' it has bubbling on the rear arches, I'm talking worst case scenario here it needing metal welded, it might not need it, just prep and paint, will know once Paul has looked them over.

Thanks Paul for the advice. Bill H’s “how to”: - http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/kb.php?mode=article&k=121 is really good and he also used Datsun Cherry wheel arches. I’ll be doing the same me thinks.
