Sales Brochures

Post by brin »

Hi all,

Received a knock on the door the other day and their was a bloke saying he had noticed my mk1 mr2 in the drive. He said he used to own one and asked me if I wanted these sales brochures.

There are.....

2 the same with a MK1A on the front in red with the famous Grand Canyon picture inside.

2 with a MK1A on the front covered in a Silver Toyota car cover which says "Toyota Mid-engine 2 seater" on

1 From 1986 with the introduction of the MK1 B..(This covers the whole Toyota range)

I was well chuffed when he gave them to me...apparantly the grand canyon shot is quite popular...anyone know if the brochures are rare ?

anorak , ANORAK !!! multi-anorak if you please. I have one or two
just a warning to people who collect such things. dont be fooled by a guy who is expecting a large number of mint brochures but needs the money up front to secure them for the serious collectors. the guy lives in crawley.
Father christmas may well be visiting him to COLLECT some presents this year!!
the guy sells at all the major show and is 60 plus and very genuine looking. i cant name names on an open forum but it is around this time of year he is looking for his christmas bonus.
if you need a name then pm me but it will now be easy to spot.

guy i met at some shows and bought stuff from him. he has a stall at all the major events. i got a call from him with some unususal stuff which i bought no problems. he then calls again saying he knows a collector who worked for toyota and has mint copies of every brochure Toyota ever produced and would I be interested in the MR2 stuff . i say yes. then he says he needs some funds to buy the lot as there are thousands of items. would i be willing to join with others and advance him the money to purchase the stuff. I would then get my pick.
well, trusting old kev says yes. hands over the cash and waits, and waits, and waits. every time i contact him its a case of he is still sorting it out or i have a few bits for you can you come to "whatever" show. every time i have met him since he has always managed to forget it all or put it in the wrong car or whatever bo77ocks.
the upshot is he needs a visit from me and a mate, whos nickname happens to be chainsaw !!
i am a patient man but this has been going on for a year now, no matter how plausible he looks and sincere he is he has still conned me.

I'm in Crawley and I have some good condition brochures, but fortunately I'm only 46 so this ain't me!

but if this ever does work out I'd be interested to get any genuine mk1 brochures that I don't already have
Unless I'm very much mistaken...
