Not liking this weather

Post by dawolf »

The first snowfall has arrived already. I never like driving the '2' in this weather. Felt the back end slip a bit on the way home from work and the snow wasn't even sticking properly. Just gotta take it steady I guess. Anyone know how long this snow is going to last?

Lol
The 1st time I drove my old Mk1 in the snow I thought it felt so strange, it was like nothing I had ever driven before.... the hand brake had iced on solid and I burnt my 2 month old clutch out with in 300 yards

go find an empty ungritted VERY large car park with some fresh snowfall and learn how the car feels and of course do the proverbial donuts j-turns and powerslides that you would normally wreck your tyres on in the dry :thumleft:

Smoothly does it. Just be ultra smooth and you will be fine. People have such bad opinions of the MR2 in wet/snow. Not super in the snow but not bad. If it snows that much and your worried just let some air out the tyres.

I had the worlds worst commute today.......shut the M40 and re-routed everyone done the a40 (which of course was not gritted) result 3/2 hours to drive 30miles!!! this was due to all the lorries not being able to get up hills. ](*,) ](*,) kept myself occupied by powersliding round corners (although at very low speeds and only safe to do so) but still brought a smile to my face and stopped me going insane :thumleft: :thumleft:

My top tip for restoring confidence in MR2 driving:

ride a motorbike in the snow

After that, driving the MR2 is like falling off a log.

Ok, fair enough the MR2 can still a handfull, but at least you can't drop it.
