how can anyone give you a genuine answer? speed, traffic, motorway, size of right foot.

my old one use to do 250 to 350 per tank depending how good i was.

make it a turbo and you can use loads, my mate had a chipped up celica 4 wheel drive. he could get down to 5 to the gallon.

Sounds about right. My turbo does about 80-90 miles to £20 on average. I drive it quite briskly though. Lol.

i can just about squeeze 320 to a full tank of super unleaded on my mk2 rev1 turbo on a long journey and banning the right foot usage.... around the city i can blow £20 in very few miles...

Sounds right for a turbo. I got around 80 to 90 miles on a twenty quid note in my old REV1 (same as my ST185 GT4 strangely enough).

I get an average of 150 miles out of a twenty in my N/A (which is why I didn't go for a turbo this time).

My old FTO used to get 150 on a twenty and the went down to around 80 90 miles. Never did figure it out. Something wasn't right somewhere.

What factors mean crappy mpg?

Hope you get it sorted Marc

Poor mpg can be caused by numerous things including faulty oxygen sensors, damaged cats, wrong tyre pressures, heavy braking, high revving, changing gear too often, worn engines etc.

I get 360kms = 224 miles out of a full tank, thats about half motorway driving and half town stuck in traffic.

Used to only get 260kms = 162miles when i used to drive heavier footed, so just easing up on the foot a lot got me a lot extra.

i still think 224 from a full tank is pretty bad and can be improved on with a service and a few tweeks.

this is on 95ron petrol

So why dont you run it on super untill its mapped? Not worth risking DET for a couple of pennys a litre.

My car does about 250ish to a tank. over 300 on a long run.

i'm guessing because high octane fuels aren't available very widely in ireland ? hence stand-alone and a proper tune for 95 being the ideal solution ?

i've also got a fuel consumption problem.

I put £20 of super unleaded in and only get 90 miles 8-[ (half in town, half on 70mph dual carrageways)

Now, i havent drove it hard or anything the last couple of £20's to see the mpg im getting.... im hoping its the lambda sensor

maybe yours is the same Marc :thumleft:

ive gone from doing 6 journeys to a tank and seeing 300-330 to a tank to doing a whole week+ driving and now im only seeing 220-250 it makes a huge difference the type of driving roads right foot.

my mpg is because of an uprated oxy sensor . driven like a sunday driver though its doing about 36 mpg . but i do like to get where i am going  i will do a test next time i fill up and drive economical and see what results i get.

Hmm. I did get 213 miles out of £25 of VPower, but that was 99% motorways in the slow lane :D
