[Mk2] [Turbo] Lost all electrical power to the car ??

Post by madr2turbo »

My mr2 turbo has a serious electrical gremlin i have just fitted a revision 2 loom from the pasinger kick panel back pluss a rev2 engine harness to go with the rev2 engine & ecu fitted to my revision 1 car.
with the looms fitted i turned on the car, checked every thing powered up ok and apart from my revision 6 rear reverse light so far so good.

Checked the fuel pump was working and it was, so i tryed to start the car for the first time.
The car went dead the insant i turned the key to start #-o no power to the car at all, so i checked all the fuses and there all ok, disconected the batery wated a minute then reconected it and still nothing.

Can someone please tell me what have i blown were its located and any ideas why it blew would be a big help too .

Thanks,

charlie.

Hi Mate,

It sounds like something has been wired up wrong and blown the fusible link.

I''m not sure where the fusible link is on the mk2. Someone may be able to help on that... but it's usually near the battery.

The fusible link is a large fuse designed to cut all power in the event of a nasty short circuit.

One big wire going into the bulkhead, two smaller ones are what you need to be checking, they will be sizzled and fused together I think :-k

You can get similar gauge wiring, best to check the PDFs on what current and ohmage they need to withstand and buy accordingly.
