Cleaning under engine cover vents!

Has anyone come up with an easy way of cleaning those hard to get to areas under the vents on the engine cover :?:

AHH!!

So I'm not the only sad git that has tried then !!.......I used a small bottle brush wrapped in a soft rag.......but don't tell anyone !!

Wrapped a cloth round an old toothbrush and used that, worked ok.

But to get right into the crevices, I found a triangular piece of sponge, on a plastic handle - I think its part of a painting/decorating kit - that was the best!

Cloth scovered with aeroseol cleaner polish wrapped around a wooden (to avoid unintentional scratching) kebab skewer.

Still a PITA though!

take of engine lid and give it a decent clean with pressure washer, then finish with one of the suggestions above :D

I've always thouht the cars would look better if the bit you could see through the holes was painted black. But making a good job of painting them would seem as bad if not worse than cleaning them, and there's no going back.
