[All] [Generic] Urgent - engine collection

Post by Bender Unit »

Need to pick up an engine - only issue is its miles away.

Is there a company that will collect an engine and deliver it?

The engine is NOT on a pallet and CANT be put onto one, and also there is no engine crane to lift the engine into the van.

Does anyone know of a service that will collect and drop off?

Van hire for the weekend, stupid milage restrictions, fuel costs and my time - it would probably be easier and cheaper to have someone else collect it for me.

Cheers

Unfortunately if you can't pallet it I can't see anyone touching it because of the handling issues. :-k

Gold star for that lady!

He's right, I work in shipping and you won't get anyone to pick that up unless it's palleted.

Needs to be clean too or you could face extra costs from the carrier. They would be able to bring their own trolleys though, however you would need to specify a taillift and let them know how big your road is as you may just have to go with a 7.5 tonner which a lot of carriers don't have many of

Can I ask matey, why can't it be put on a pallet? Easy enough to source one and strap it to it?

I can say that a engine/Gbox and engine crane plus 2 people will fit into a Volvo 240 estate!

Problem is the engine is in West Yorks and I am in Bristol. The guy i am buying off is out of the country and has no lifting equipment either so pretty stuck. :(

where you base ?

i also tempted to go west yorkshire pick up some stuff :D

some rental company dont have limited miles

my engine come in pallect from manchester to london :D
and the lorry driver was cursing it because oil was not drain and leaking on his lorry

it cost about 60 to ship on pallet

i have a engine crane, which i dont mind go with you and pick it up, and may be i am weak, i can move the engine without crane but not lifting it :D <--- i mean not at car boot high

get the seller found a pallet and he and his mate can lift it on,
