I'm still a bit sore after seeing a MK1 identical to mine in the work's car park

I enjoy being a member of the Mk1 Club but appreciate that a lot of people are happy just being online.
What i can't understand, is what is the problem with advertising our clubs?
If the person that gets a flyer is not interested, they throw it away but you might get someone that hasn't heard of us before

I was in the Mk12 club for a while but i didn't feel it was value for money.
This forum is free and is 10 times as useful.

You can also arrange to meet people informally if you want the face to face contact.

I think the whole idea of clubs is now slightly antiquated with the presence of the
'virtual' club on the internet.
Please remember that the MK1 section on here
'is' the MR2 MK1 Club
Indeed, and as I've found recently, car clubs are pretty low down peoples lists of priorities when it comes there overall life.

In name only, essentially is a Mk1 section of IMOC.By creating it we've given IMOC a stronger Mk1 community.
Bit of an own goal in some ways for the Mk1 Club as an individual entity.
I still think the best way to ensure the survival of the club, if that's what we're after, is to keep the how to's password protected.I've heard the argument that the info gets out anyway, but it'd still help.
Many other car clubs do it.

This forum regularly provides technical help to non Mk1 Club members, jolly nice of us, but why join the club?
I think if we kept the self help guides for the members then membership would pay for the gazebo's flags etc etc often used by the enthusiasts who tend to be the ones writing the guides and contributing to the mag.
