Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Rear Arch Rolling
Think it should be alright with the rear shocks, it was always the fronts that caused a problem with clearence.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Rear Arch Rolling
Did this ever get anywhere?

I'm in West Sussex and need a roll

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Rear Arch Rolling
I've been thinking about making one.
Can't be that hard really.
Bit of metal, a urethane wheel, bit of welding, couple of handles.

Skateboard wheel would do the job.

I have an old MK2 if you wanted to try it out

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Rear Arch Rolling
Well I've just drawn up the designs for one, so will have a chat to my mate who can more than likely source me the materials and do any fabrication.
I reckon this is a go-er tho!

If poss could you measure from the center of the wheel to the edge of the front and rear arches please?

edit: and the side to side distance please

Ta,
Ant

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Rear Arch Rolling
Cheers Gav, m uch appreciated.
I won't be on much over the weekend but will pick the figures up from work on monday.
Have already told my mate I need materials so the ball is rolling

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Rear Arch Rolling
Have now PM'd those who expressed an interest in renting the Arch Roller.

I will be using UPS as the courier as they are guaranteed pick-up and delivery and all next day, plus I get a cheap deal through work.

Arch roller will be supplied with full instructions, plus a good quality heat gun.

To reassure people, I had never done Arch Rolling before, but I followed the instructions, took my time and the job came out perfect.

I only needed to do the rears, and was running 9" with 35 offset and 255/40/17 tyres, rubbed like hell but now I have now rubbing at all.

Thanks

Graeme

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Rear Arch Rolling
Can you quote the design you mention cos I can't see it
Dunno if I'm just being blind today or not though.

And I want a proper hub mounted roller, but some pikey bottle jack.
Will be cheaper to make a proper one than buy a bottle jack anyway.
