Donington Park 17/05/2008 - pictures!

Post by Rev2_mike »

Superb day out; courtesy of Andy-Runner - cheers Andy :thumleft:

The only shame was that the weather wasn't as dry as it could have been - not that it mattered a great deal and it was a great experience for me and after being a passenger in Andy's car has certainly encouraged me to give it a go at a beginners event in my car

The car seemed to be running very well and there wasn't much that was gaining on it in the straights; (thanks to my long suffering wife Philippa for the pictures!):

Then with the slicks - impressively grippy when they warmed up

There was some seriously nice metal out and about on saturday, and some serious money as someone didnt seem to mind hammering their 08 plate ferrari

Image

Just a couple of other pictures of some of the (IMO) particularly nice cars, including an amazing seat touring car that was seriously quick!!

...And the final picture of the only car not on the track

Yet

Looks like you guys had fun.

Sorry for the little spin in front of you on my first outlap
It was interesting seeing as I wasn't pushing at all

By the afternoon when some grip appeared thanks to a dry line I started to have a really good time.
But that's Dony in the wet for you, you really need to tip-toe about until it's dry

Was good seeing the Ferrari really pushing hard in the afternoon too 8)

Nice pictures Mike - wish i'd cleaned my car a bit more now!

Glad you enjoyed the day, it was a pleasure to have you and Libby around - you just need to get your car on track now.
:thumleft:

PS: nice wheels btw

Did you have a rollcage? I only ask as its pretty dodgy without one if you run slicks.

Notice a friend of mine is in the pics with the M400. Nice car that.

Unfortunately Rob's car started developing a bit of misfire shortly after lunch. It had a recent R/R remap and he thinks it could be linked to that - or one of the sensors had co-incidentally started failing.

I certainly hope it's got a cage if you were running slicks. It's against BaT & circuit regulations to run slicks without a cage.

Jo & I weren't controlling Pitlane in the afternoon so we had no input into this :?

Can't say i'm surprised TAAN, especially Nobles it seems. I didn't get a ride round the Ring in it a couple of years ago due to it having a burst coolant pipe.
