Thats good that with the map but its not quite right but close.

2 changes. When leaving huntly we come back on the A96 as far as newtongarry Inn and turn right down the old road to Insch. This road is on the google but not numbered.

Then at Dufftown we might head over to Craigellachie and come back to Keith that way as a great road to go on. Better than Dufftown Keith but we will see what sunday brings.

Catch you soon.

Spikkey

I have not got the exact numbers on this but looking at probably 10 cars. Its on here and OC :-$

Thats a bit closer but still not bang on but close.

Still got the wrong road off the A96 we cut off a lot closer to Huntly maybe 5 miles out just after you have passed the crawler lane there is a sign off to your right to Insch. Cant miss it as its well sighn posted.

The dufftown bit is spot on and all the rest :thumleft:

See you all on Sunday

I think that is one of the best runs out we have had yet.

Weather great, company great and a stop at the old Grouse Inn kept the stomach full.

Just a pity pc plod spoiled the last section.

Thanks to all who managed to attend.

Good start to the day I had planned a route to Huntly avoiding Abz and marked up a map, I was halfway up the road before I realised I had left the map in the house  So I went for it from memory, not a great idea  I ended up lost and going through Abz anyway  One good thing did come out of it, I drove over a section of road called the "Old Military Road" which is part of the B974 (runs from the A90 to Banchory) what a road  can only be described as a mini Applecross. Anyway got there eventually :D

An excellent day out, some superb roads, a fine selection of cars, great company
Nice to put faces to a lot of the names. :thumleft: Thanks to Shane and Bill for organising it  and everyone else I met. :D
I will definitely try and make the next one if I'm home.
Not totally uneventful on the way home either, just coming out of Abz and ran into thick haar for the next 20 miles
Apart from a slight bind on the front brakes on the way up (which cleared before I reached Huntly), probably due to lack of use as this was the first decent run my car has had since Oct last year  my car ran perfectly :D and I thought it acquitted itself well on the twisties (and there were plenty of them )
Checked the trip mileage when I got home............350 miles for the day  #-o :(
