[Mk2] [Turbo] Not boosting as high after fitting a de cat

Ive been on my car since 8 this morning fitting my de cat cant believe it took so long :(

well got it all on now and it sounds lovely

i got a twin exit fujibits (spelling) on it and a motoria de cat fitted now

i got a mbc and fcd to pick up tomorrow from the post office as noone was in when they come,to re place the bleed valve i have fitted to the car

it was boosting at 12psi and is now boosting at 9

is this normal thing to do

can i turn my boost up to 15 psi once i have the fcd fitted

check the wastegate actuator isnt fouling the downpipe. this can happen

how can i check that mate will i have to take it all apart again

ive heard that some stick but it picks up alright and no boost spike anything like that

Was it the cheaper XS Power/Motoria unit for £80ish?????

If so then yes your wastegate is catching and the only way is taking it apart and grinding away the part that catches!! ](*,)

i paid around £49 for the xs downpipe and have had no problems and that was 18 months ago....

im not saying that its not causing the problem but its not a sure thing that it is... :-k

The earlier models have not been machined correctly resulting in the wastegate catching more often than not.

It is best to rule out anything else as this is a last resort and involves taking it off again!!

it not the cheap one its the 135 quid one of the site the one with loads of weld in it

i got my fcd and mbc through today so going to play with that today see if it runs better

if it was catching on the dp you'd be overboosting

defo not over boosting

when it stops raining going to do the fcd and mcb and that should sort it out
