[All] [Generic] Anyone interested in spraying my car? or know someone who can?

I need to re-spray my car. Have taken it to a few pro spray shops and they want the typical £1000+ amount to re spray it.

Thing is... I really am not that bothered about having it professionally done. I'm sure there must be some amateur (but decent) paint sprayers out there that have the equipment necessary and can do it for half that?

I would do it myself but without a garage I'm on to a loser from the start I think.

If anyone is interested or knows anyone who can do it for a lot less than £1000 please let me know.

What sort of a job you looking for? just a full blow over (no body work required?)

i know some one, he is based in manchester and has a few years experance working in a company., now he has opend his own place,.. he is really good. and not too expensive. about 700 all in i would say.(maybe less if he is not busy) thats with some body work and a full respray.. he will buy all the paints. i could send you his details and some images of work he has carried out.

here is a car he done for me, i know you wont like the body kit, but look at the paint work. its mint.

Yeah his work looks good from the photo. I have a small dent in the nearside sill that I wouldn't mind sorting although wasn't going to bother if I could get it cheap enough.

To be honest £700 is still a bit steep if I have to drive to Manchester. Maybe more the £500 mark. Don't need a colour change and am not bothered about stripping parts off the car either. Just a mask up, rub down and blow over in the standard black.

I gave him a call, he said he do it 500 pounds, but i told him it was a mark1 mr2 and he will do a full spray over the car, mask it and buff it so it will look brand new.

alright pete. well i been going to him for a while now. and i must have given him 1000's

had a honda done off him a few year a go, and my golf mk1 and my old mr2 mk1...

i get discounts, off him now, am almost there all the time when am free, having a look what is going on etc.. and the garage is only a walk down my house.

well he given me discounts as i recommend him... so i just thought why not use that name, easy to remember

Justincase you dont want a trip up to Manchester, there was a bloke with a spray shop in Mursley, I cant for the life of me think what the company is called but the blokes name is Gary.

If you go out of MK towards the bottle dump round-a-bout, and go straight on, till you get to the next little round-a-bout and take the left towards Mursley then take the first right (its a bit of a farm track but dont be put off) he's up there on the right hand side. He used to have a black celica with a Targa roof when I last went to see him. I was after getting that scratch sprayed out and he seemed quite reasonable. The only reason I didn't get it done was because my Neighbour got his S2000 keyed, he got it resprayd then 2 days later it got keyed again. So I figured I would do it when I move, I just never moved, then I emigrated.

Anyway I hope the Cars running OK mate, I REALLY miss it at the mo. My loss is your gain though

have a look at my candy car he done, its mint,, go any place and they would charge you 3000 pounds for a job like that.

500 is the cheapest he will do it for me, and it was for a mk1... he gave me 500 quote because i been two him for lots of work for all my cars, and asked if he sort some of my mates out on this forum.. i will post some pic of the honda he did a few year ago. flip paint,,
