[Mk2] [NA] DE-Cat section for Mk2 GT T-Bar

Post by Pickzmx »

Hi i've just recently bought a 1994 (L) 2.0L GT T-Bar N/A and was wondering where to get a De-Cat section of Pipe from and how difficult will it be to install?

Will this offer noticable Performance Gains and a sweeter Noise?

Any advise appreciated.

Also whats a quick way to tell a Rev 2 from a Rev 3? and is there a difference in BHP?
I'm new to the Mr2 owners, cheers!

P.S: - I've posted this in the wanted section too, not sure how strict moderators are on this forum?!

blue flame do an adjustable one which i got with my exhaust very good because theres 2 different sizes people have trouble fitting some lots of arguments on here regarding them. makes a lot of difference minus the cat aparently exhaust sounds much better with decat pipe. i wouldnt know because i fitted mine all together but impressed sound is good and less restrictive feels more responsive :thumleft: :thumleft: ps loads on ebay for around £50 not blueflame ones though :thumleft: :thumleft:

The rear lights is one way to tell them apart... square rev 2 and rounded rev3! Theres probably a better way but I'm not too technical ... yet!

Rev 2 was about 158 bhp and rev 3 approc 172 bhp! :-k

I'm sure someone will correct me if im wrong though :thumleft:

Rear spoiler on a rev2 is 3 piece and on a rev3 its just 1 on the boot lid.

As for performance and sweeter noise ...

I just had a complete Magnex system (De-Cat and exhaust) fitted on mine as I didn't want a boy racery sound I'm happy :D ! As for performance gain ... meh! like you I have an N/A and, well ... Its not a Turbo.

Yeah thats it, i dont want to sound like i'm a boy racer, just something a little more meatier?! Without spending Major Dolla!!

Might just try a de-cat seein how cheap you can pick them up.

Cheers for all advice anyways!
