Post by TubbyTwo »

Hi guys

just out of interest with upgraded fueling is it possible to use this turbo kit with standard internals and a Metal head gasket? obviously not a full boost.

thanks

Hi mate

mines a rev 2 being fitted with a Metal HG and charge cooler soon, was looking to upgrade injectors, fuel rail and pump as well.

assume this would be ok? knowing how rich the rev 2s run as standard.

just curious would only be running 1 / 1.1 bar.

thanks.

If you want to start pushing and your taking the head off anyway id do the pistons for the hell of it - saves you labour for the job in the future.

However you cant change injectors until you have a control method - ecu etc.

What power are you aiming for

Im running mine at 1.3bar on standard internals and head gasket at moment. Makin 361bhp at moment. So yeah i'd say it'll be ok with an uprated fuel system.

What are you thinking re. ECU?

For 280rwhp, you can probably just get away with a full upgrade to rev 3+ components - ECU, 540cc fuel injectors... You might be ok on the rev2 fuel rail too? If you want to go more than 540cc injectors then you might as well consider a PFC or Link etc from the off...

have been looking into this, plug and play, can also get wideband kits and boost control with them as well:

also been looking into fuel rails, as i assume the Rev 3 rail is not a straight swap?

thanks guys, any info is most appreciated!

No the rev 3 rail will not fit directly. If you need a bigger one either opt for a Wolfkatz one or get yours bored out.

Just to say you can get injector/rail kits from Tim which should work out cheaper.
