Dont get too excited yet until we confirm that the turbo kit really is that and not just a "supercharger" described as a turbo! LOL :-)

Well its certainly possible - Toyota did it when they took a 3SGE and 'converted it to a 3SGTE :-)

More realisticly though you can by a Toyota approved TTE kit to turn a Roadster into a turbo so cant see why you cant do it with a 3SGE.

I think the area of doubt I have is if its true why hasnt it been enormously popular?!

because 3s-ge mk2's are map sensor driven not AFM like the mk3... the mk2 map sensor wont handle positive boost, only vacuum in the plenum.

Its still possible to SC one but requires more work.

Good luck with Fensport. I called them regarding info on the HKS supercharger kit for the BEAMS Black Top they've had on at least one of their cars and they knew feck all about it.

possibly... depends whats in the kit i suppose.

EDIT: taken from fensport... Blitz Supercharger Conversion kit - Includes self lubricating supercharger, Access ECU, all pipework and fixings as necessary - 3SGE Only

Access ECU,so yes they are using a standalone not the factory ecu.

Just fo rthe mix:

http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ ... opic=30054

If I understand this right the Altezza RS200 is a lexus IS200 with a 3SGE black top beams engine (more powerful than the red top) and thus one allegedly has had a turbo kit fitted to it :-)

Bit irrelevant but came across it whilst looking - a turbo kit for roadster:
http://www.turbokits.com/mr2_s_turbo_kits.html

6th car down (click on the pic for details)
http://www.fensport.co.uk/fensportcars.htm

BTW I'm aware that above are for BEAMS engine before anyone points it out but it gives hope LOL!

oh ok so it should work?

could you not work your wonders and build a 3s-ge kit to use an eaton supercharger using the aircon pully?

i could easily do it yes,if i had time, which i dont... far too busy doing engine conversions day to day to devote any time to it but yes i have a few ideas on how simply it "could" be done using an m45 off the minis.... i have the knowledge and facilities to produce a working kit, just no time....

now thats just TEASING!!!! lol

so i presume its not as simple as just making bracket in line with the pully and sticking a SC on it!

to be totally honest with you it would end up costing more to SC the 3s-ge than it would be to get a v6 in there, which would be much better anyway.... just something to consider.
