ye i think it will look better.. as the mr2 boot is not that nice looking when carpet is removed..i want it to look like it could of been fitted in the factory, rather than an 8 year old has gone at it with a saw lol

dont panic.. nothing you can cut back there cant be fixed with a welder.

just take the underside heat shields off and make sure the exhaust is out the way and you'll be fine.

measure it all up and get a mate to watch from the other side (with goggles!!) as you cut to make sure everything is fine from both sides.

as it looks like your more than away, its all in the planning. good luck! looks like it's going to be a great project.

looks cool, but i would of thaught if the air comes in the bottom it would go out the top, so wouldnt the scoop be better the outher way round? :-s

i think you would get too much heat from the exhaust & lower engine which would then be blown up into the intercooler (this is just my thought & not proven). so im trying the other way same as phoniex powers mr2.
air drawn in through the top & out the bottom through a boot vent which will have a 2" gap at engine end of vent & approx 5" gap at rear bumper end. by doing this i hope that the air running under the car will come through the engine end of the under car vent pass under the intercooler & out the back which i hope will create a venturi type effect & suck the air out from the top of the intercooler ( again not proven just another one of my ideas)

been working on boot lid again today
drilling holes for spoiler as boot lid is from a rev3 & welding previous holes that are not required.

the hole nearest the boot lid edge is kept as this screws straight into the rev 2 spoiler & helps line it up

The hole welded that is not required (4 were done in total

na keep rev 2 spoiler not shore about you mate but i prefer the rev2 spoiler to the rev 3, although i quit like the rev 4 spoiler but always feel like there laking something on the rear quarters with the other spoilers

i like em as well, just if you gone to the effort of filling holes and things, wouldnt be to much you get fill the old spoiler ones and fit something else if you got the skills/tools and bodyshop.
rev4 is same as rev3, think you ment rev5 spoiler :eye: :thumleft:

if you wanted to keep the flowing sides, a toms one on brys old car does that. that would be the only one i would get personally.

going to be a cool setup.

ps, dont have a leak down test kit at your workshop do you, could really do with a favour to check i havent blown HG

Hi Mate nice to chat to you yesterday as always.

Heres a pic of my boot mount that i found oviously now theres a different turbo in there and changed some of the silicon hosing to metel but the intake side is still the same. & the oil catch tank has been replaced and moved, but you proberly dont have that problem cause you engine doesn't have it.
