Official Kent Coast run info names down please

right on the 16th of sept we are doing the kent coast run
i run the route yesterday and all was well
meeting at 11.30
we will be having the supra club, imoc, mr2 mk1 club, two brutal, mr2oc, smart car club and who everelse turns up so it is gonna be big
will alos see if we cna get mr2only mag to come along and do a feature
meeting point is eureka park ashford in the car park behind burger king which is off j9 of the m20

he has very kindy set out the route on tom tom and google
if you do not have atom tom let me know and i can email the map and the directions to you but i will have some sets with me

I have lost interest in this now

It was great last year with 40 MR2's but it still caused minature chaos......now its not really an exclusive event and is gonna end up with a 150 car traffic jam for the afternoon

so what is wrong with a group of people who love their cars getting together
the mr2 is not the only car in the world
its not smarts it is the smart roadsters plus only a bout 4 coming
and only about 4 supras so still be mainly mr2's
come along it will still be a laugh

sorry do not mean to be funny but a lot of effort goes into this event to say "its gonna be cack" post
it will be a good day and not being nice about someone elses pride and loy is not nice as iansumuk is the guy who has helped organise this event i think he has a right to be there
does it matter how fast the car is its no race also ui think you would be suprised how quick they are and better round corners than a mk1
heard there might be one comming with a bike engine
or as i no longer have an mr i had better not go, I am coming in a scooby(mussis) and audi s4(me)?? i think i have only done this event once in a mr2 and loved it everytime
last year i was in a golf diesel and led the way and everyone still enjoyed it
i still love my cars just moved on to better things

right click save these as a file as a text file

Now, what to do with them? Well, put them in the "itn" folder on your tomtom. That folder is at the top level. If you have no "itn" folder create one and put them in it.

On the tomtom, do this:

On the menu select "Itinerary Planning".
Click "Options".
Click "Load Itinerary".
Load "Kent Part 1".
Click "Done".
Tomtom asks "The first destination is 'The Pilot Pub'. Navigate there now?
Say yes.
NOTE: THIS WILL TAKE YOU TO BURGER KING FIRST, AND THEN THE ROUTE. SO USE IT TO GET YOU FROM HOME TO THE STARTING POINT, SELECT QUICKEST ROUTE AND IT WILL GET YOU TO BK THE QUICKEST WAY, THE REST OF THE ROUTE IS TO OUR SPEC!


Once half way round and after lunch, do this:

On the menu select "Itinerary Planning".
Click "Options".
Click "Load Itinerary".
Tomtom asks to delete all locations in current itinerary.
Say yes. It doesn't delete, you can reload if you wanted to!
Load "Kent Part 2".
Click "Done".
Tomtom asks "The first destination is 'The French Connection'. Navigate there now?
Say yes.

I agree that an MR2 run should really be mr2's.

sometines this is not possible due to last min mechanical breakdowns etc, so people come in other cars.

if there are more that one or two 'others', esp groups of others eg 'group of supras and group of smart cars' then the thread title should reflect this.

as this used to be a mk1 club mr2 run, with the invite towards all mr2's, despite Pete now havign a diffrent car, IMO it should have predomiantly remained for mr2's.

Anyhow - i didn't even go, so really is not my place to comment on how well it went, but as events organiser i should point eveyone towards the club slant on this which is: mk1 club events are open to all mk1's and other marks where invited. therefore i feel that Pete should refer back to this, with the exception of his change of car due to the little 'un

otherwise just advertise it as a 'run out' rather than anything like an 'mr2 run'

Hi, I didnt say the event would be cack or say anything to doubt the hard work and commitment of anyone organising any event . I originaly posted a thread on the MK1 page because i also thought this run had originated from. I remembered your Golf last year leading us around the route and nobody would want to see anyone missout on this major S/E MR2 event due to there car being off the road or a potential new owner. My own thought on this years event is it has the potential to be more like a cruise club than a MR2 event.

Hiya guys

Hopefully will be joining you on this meet. Just need a bit of help with getting the directions on my tomtom.

Ive clicked the link for the tomtom file and another page apears with text on it. Ive then saved this page but it will only save as a HTML Document and when i try to put it in the "int" folder on my tomtom it wont accept it.

I`m i doing something wrong. All i can think of is that i need to save the text as a file tomtom will reckonise

Any help would be cool

instead of opening the page and saving the page that way right click on the link and click save target as and then save it whereever you need to and saves it as a text document

Might be an idea to see who has the directions on tomtom when we get there, and postion them evenly through the convoy. So if the convoy dose get broken up, theres more of a chance of getting back on route
