The two are mutually exclusive - we stock Wossner and Omega pistons, but if your main criteria is price then you'll end up with the usual JE / CP / Arias stuff from the US.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with the ones from the US - we've had very good results from them in the past - but I don't think they're the best pistons you can buy.

SpudFromEngland's 600+bhp MR2 uses a set of JE pistons which we heavily modified to suit. The Omega pistons that we use are to our own specification - based on a group "A" rally piston but with the mods we did to Spud's designed in.

We favour CP pistons due to their proven success time and time again. These are used in our MR2. We have them sat on the shelf. Please check our affiliate thread for prices.

As Patrick said, there are many different makes out there and it boils down to personal preferance. The only ones i would advise you to avoid are Ross as we have encountered problems with ring life on more than one occasion.

tbh i think the major ones are all in the same ball park .

i used wossners . my reason was the 9-1 compression ratio was higher than any cp/je which all seemed to be 8.5-1 .but i'm no race engine builder

i run wiseco pistons as most big horse power dragsters(2000hp+) use them & my friend who used to build big block drag engines reacons they take a series amount of abuse only thing i would say is you get a little bit of piston slap on warm up..i would go wiseco every time...
my pistons are 87.5mm...8.5/1 i think with ceramic coated crowns & teflon coated skirts all done in america

IMHO forged pistons are forged pistons, they are all much of a muchness and will all do the same job. If you kill one the likley hood its down to something else (bad mapping) than the piston itself.

before you buy pistons, make sure your block is stripped and you have checked the condition of the bores and measured the bores etc. you dont want to purchase some 86mm's but then find out you actually need 86.25mm !!

Got mine from...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CP-Pisto ... enameZWD1V

It was with Eagle rods too.. cost me IIRC $900 plus import duty.. still way cheaper than from UK. Got the HG from the states too for about £70 inc duty.

It's about time you got this sorted Rob, finger out!!

I got my Arias pistons and Eagle forged rods of Ebay US, About £400 inc shipping for the lot, which is a freaking bargain and waaaaaaaaaay waaaaaaaaaay cheaper than any one in the UK will supply them for. Us is by far the cheapest place for these parts.
