[Mk2] [Turbo] Where to Buy - Border front bumper?

Post by Craigo »

Right im a bit confused. My understanding is that 'Border' is the style but there are numerous different manufacturers offering this bumper. Is this right?

Could someone please suggest where to buy from?

I found a few

http://www.powerperformance.co.uk/store ... cts_id=413

http://www.importbodykits.co.uk/ (toyota page not currently working)

Thanks,

Hi border is the name of the company who originaly made the style of bumper you are referring to.All the other ones you see are just copies(ussually poor ones).Unless of course they say they supply original which would then be nuff che-ching.

Styling FX offerd this style(copy) and from what i have read were a decent fit, though there skirts were hit'n'miss as I know from experience.

Can not comment on those companies you have listed, but 90% of these kits ussually need alot of work doing to them to make them fit/bring the panel work upto scratch, hence bodyshops most of the time already factor that into there estimate assuming that they do this kind of work alot.

i've just got hold of a copy one from another member on here and before i bought it he said he wasn't happy with the fit when the body shop put it on, so with that in i mind i knew it wasn't gonna be plain sailing.

however i think its luck of the draw to exactly how bad the fit is, my advice would be to be well prepared to some bodging action to get a good fit, either by yourself or at a cost as its a nausiating job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you plan on sending it to someone else to make fit then i would seriously consider trying to source an original for a guarenteed fit, in the long run i couldn't see it working out too much more expensive, but then i dont know how much an original is.

I've got myself an orriginal Border Racing jap frontbumper and it fits really nice :o Some minor work to get it fitted, but that you have on (almost) every bodykit as far as I know ](*,)

The only bad is that at some points the bumper aint very rigid. I'm gonne reinforce the bumper from the inside at some points near the big hole for the radiator.

Where to buy? For instance at http://www.takakaira.co.jp
