HERTS, BEDS & BUCKS MEET - New Venue!! Sunday 5th August

Post by Charged »

Date: Sunday 05/08/2007

Details: Pub Meet

Location: White Horse Pub, Bourne End, Herts, HP1 2RH

This is actually an MR2 Drivers club meet, but the organiser, Tim does not mind us joining in. I am organising this meet for the Mr2 Mk1 Club although there is an open invitation for all Mk1s, Mk2s and Mk3s. Please feel free to pop long, the meet starts at 12.30pm.

The pub is easy to find, just off the A41 and close to the M25. Bourne End is between Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead, Herts.

If you need any further details please let me know.. and please reply to this post if you are interested in coming!

Many thanks

Ollie

ps I will probably try and organise another Moor Mill (St Albans) meet before the White Horse meet, I will try and get a date fixed with Breakz from the OC and will start a seperate post 8)

Interested in popping along but I'm not sure that this is a good venue #-o

Thanks for the reply so far, keep them coming :thumleft:

Babboon, I drove into the pub and had a look tonight, it is not as bad as you think, I reckon room for 10-15 cars as well as spaces for the regulars, if it is too small we can convoy somewhere else...

Unfortunately this thread had completely dropped off the page! This meet is coming up scarily quickly. Now JAE is out of the way I thought I'd better bump the post back up!

Please try and come along, hopefully we'll get a good turn out as it is a inter-club meet. The pub is easy to find and is in a nice location in Herts, close to the M25.

Please reply to the post if you haven't done already

Thanks

Hi Ollie,
I would have probably come along but i'm at a Jaguar show with my dad, he now owns a nice Sovereign, after selling on his Mk1.
Just thought i would let you know, i have now bought a low mileage Turbo engine and hopefully all the parts to get it sorted :) , so come end of December my 1.5 should be on the road :D
Good Luck! with your meet and don't get down hearted if not too many turn up, it usually ends up good fun whatever and especially as it looks like the weather is going to be good :D

What a great meet this was... I counted 13 Mr2s at one point... Big thanks to Tim from the Drivers Club for letting this interclub meet take place, and another big thanks for all the OC guys who made it... thanks to all. I had a really good time, enjoyed my spin in a Rev 1 tubby, great banter, nice drink and food, lovely weather... all round this was a fantastic meet, and a great way to spend a sunny sunday afternoon.

I think the pub staff/locals and Tim who regularly organises this meet were blown away by the turn out. Great effort guys!!!

We had 1 Mk1, and mk3, the rest were mk2s.

Now for my moan: This was a Herts Beds and Bucks Mk1 organised meet. I WAS THE ONLY MK1 THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whats the point in me organising Mk1 meets if nobody else bothers to turn up????????!!!!!!!

Sorry I couldn't make it Ollie... you know why though...
I looked out the window at the weather and seriously considered just saying sod it and heading over to join you all... but felt guilt as soon as I put my shoes on... #-o
Next time, hopefully...

Was there any run this time or was it just a meet?

Was a nice little meet, pub was decent even if their helpings on the food were slightly small
Would be nice to organise a nice little run somewhere and a bit of an activity next time \:D/

Keep your chin up Ollie, can't help it if the rest of the mk1 owners in the area are scared of being out numbered by mk2's (or have theirs in pieces as usual :-$ )

It's a tough time of year Ollie, loads of people involved in their hols!

I would've come but was away the weekend - when there's another I'll do me best. :)
