[Mk2] [Turbo] My problem with the thumping.

Post by Draven »

Right well it was getting sooo bad that i could feel the noise through the car if you see what i mean..

So took it to a local garage one close and asked them to look and do a few other bits.. so i asked.

1. find the noise and fix the problem Edit: found it rear wheel baring completely shattered..)
2. check the suspension for any other issues.
3. drain and refill brake fluid redline 5.1
4. align the wheels.
5. tighten the brake cable so it actually works lol.

for that lot they have said £210...

Now i have said yeh sure do it.. Cus it desperatly needs to be done..

What do people think. decent price.. that includes all the parts. :?

Highly possible mate, I had to buy a new one (all three sections ) for the MOT and it was something like £120 for all three bits,

Then the buggers only fitted the two bottom sections

Oh right he said it was siezed right up when he tried to get it out it snapped lol. thats fair enough if he is charging £130 for the lot. They seem like a decent garage.. he said on the phone that the 4 wheel lazer tracking would be about £40 but he would see what he could do..

Him and his dad who own the place have MR2's i'm suprised they ain't on here really. Chose the right place to go to by the look of things. :thumleft:

I just want to get till all fixed once and for all.

Yes mate. I have never driven my car once and been completely happy with the handling. Once i replace the topmounts it should make the world of difference. I'm hoping. :thumleft:

i had a 4 wheel laser tracking done lately it looked really complicated. they were ataching alsorts of strange things to the car with beams of light ect. gave me print out before and after and altho i didnt really understand the printout . it was full of percentages and angles for camber ect.. but on the drive home the car was tranformed.

id recomend this to every mr2 owner. its cheap and gives a good change in the drive. i was well impressed.
