Post by Nick Bryant »

Basically im about to imbark on a rebuild with my old forged rev1 block and im heading towards a rev3 head . I know theres a few people out there that have gone down this road i basically just wanted to know exactly whats involved.
I know about the cam belt issue and the redrilling of the head gasket to match up the water ways but need to know abit more, basically im after info on what else that needs to be done from hopefully someone thats done it before .

Any info appreciated

I did it the other way round. rev2 head on a rev 3 block. No drillin of the head gasket. went strait on! I used a hks 1.2mm gasket tho.
If u need an exhaust manifold pm me i have about 4 one should fit. just pay me the post

Hi guys looks like i'm off down this line.

What is the issue with the cambelts?

Why does the headgasket need drilling for the water ways? Will a rev 3 head gasket not fit a rev 1 block?

Also will the rev 1 inlet fit on a rev 3 head?

Is there anythings else involved?

Thanks Guys

rev1 manifold won't fit on the rev3 head. But id u need a rev3 manifold i have 1 of them 2 if u need 1?
Think i used a rev3 cam belt on mine. Rev3 gasket will fit but look at the holes when u put it on to make sure all the water and oil ways line up. They did fine on my one
