[Mk2] [Turbo] Odd pop from my exhaust???!

Car was fully warm but i hadn't really been giving it the beans.......

As i came up to a roundabout i let off the gas(no i don't mean i farted!!! ) upon which the exhaust gargled and popped a bit......

Upon acceleration out of the roundabout the exhaust emitted a loud and very sharp pop!! Not like any pop or bang that i usually have from over fuelling but much louder and more crisp!!

Car feels exactly the same as before but it just shocked me a little

What do we think??? Just a hot exhaust and the odd freakish pop from the tip??

had you autosolved it recently?? dont know why but after ive polished my exhaust it pops and bangs like a muthaf*ka (mental note - must polish exhaust more)

I polish the nuts off it but haven't done it for a week or so......It was just a shock but afterwards i kept trying to get a pop as loud but alas i failed

Maybe a flame?

I get the weirdest gurgle always at 2600 to 2850 rpm, its like when you hum into a drink through a straw and it bubbles up.

only popping i get is a quiet one when i re-apply gas after braking or 'coasting' or just backing off (never happens).

how would you know you have flames?

i know i get flamnes from the phoenix power departure 2 and de cat as a girl i know was following me down the bypass {without me knowing she was behind} changed from 3rd to 4th and heared a small pop followed by like what you said a huge bang i promptly got a phone call from her telling me she was behind me and my car was on fire lmao also had a cabbie pull me over in london concerned about the car as it wa popping flames lol

depends how rich / how much unburnt fuel enters your hot exhaust.

but yes decat and boost increase (as the car will overfuel to be safe) are the main ingredients

Bry's car was remapped with a hybrid turbo and bigger cc injectors - so even more fuel .. hence the actual FLAMES - not just a pop..


this can be mapped out / toned down if your mapper is asked - i know Bry said - hell leave it as it is !

I don't keep enough fuel in the tank to get the exhaust hot enough to spit flames

I should have a Nur Spec by the end of the month but are these notoriously hard to get flames from???! I have never seen a flaming Nur except for on an NA!!

Just as well though! with the angle a Nur Spec exits, on the motorway you would be cookin the person overtaking you

Doubt your get flames from a Nur mate because of the pipe length. I've never seen any out of mine (xxxx loads with my old Apexi N1!!) but your have plenty of pops and bangs!!

All to do with Robs mapping - He loves a litte extra fuel on the overrun to cool the cylinders

Doubt your get flames from a Nur mate because of the pipe length.

On my map with the extra fuel on the overrun I get backfires like grenades sometimes. They even make me jump

I used to get fireballs out the back of my nurspec was bloody brilliant
