Blitz or TRD?

Post by SuperRedMR2 »

Hiya,

im looking to get a big air filter.

As i now have a mk1b, i am unsure of how to install an air filter.

on the mk1a i installed it directly to the TB and didnt connect the green connector to anything. I had a look in the boot of my new mr2 at the weekend, and found that my K & N filter wont fit the pipe going into the boot. The k & n is on my mk1a.

Can i fit a blitz or trd filter straight to the TB or would it be better in the boot?

I want something that is very agressive sounding. I already have a mongoose exhaust, and that is reasonably quiet, but i want the air filter to be beefy :)

There was abit of a debate over air filters in the mk1b. Some people keep it in the boot and some bolt it directly to the TB like mine....

Out of interest, how much did you pay for that Blitz filter? Im currently running a K&N myself so proberly not much difference but it does look gorgeous.

The stainless filter sounds much better than the K&N IMHO. I got mine for free from a friend. Its off a civic type R. Im sure the prices are on the net.

My K&N is straight on the throttle body, sounded brill but since fitting my stainless exhaust it drowns it out with an even better sound...
