[Mk2] [Turbo] Temperture Gauge

Post by GazMR2GTS »

Hi guys,

Noticed today that my temperture gauge went up pretty quickly from cold to about 3/4's of the way up stayed there for about 3-4 mins and then dropped quickly down to about 1/4, then started to rise untill it came to a stand still just under 1/2 which is normal temp for my car and sat happy at that for a good 30 minute journey.

Any body shed some light as to what it might be ?

Bloke i was talking to said there's like a sender unit in the Rad, that open and closes something could that be it ?

Any help appreciated fellas.

Gaz

Hi i had the same problem, Temp went up and down rapidly found out at the end there was air in the cooling system this made the temp gauge go crazy,

Have you tried bleeding the cooling system using the methods on this forum? I would suggest doing this first?

I agree with the above. Most likely air in the system.
