hello mate, I am not a mechanic, but this is not surprising! I think you need to take it easy for a few hundred miles until it is worn in - else you can risk damaging it. I had the same thing on my S13.

Dont know why the bite point is high, but I expect this is adjustable...?

make sure you've had your clutch bled properly its a pain in the ass. then get the pedal adjustment just right. there are adjusters at the top of the pedal.

cheers karam

i also hope you were careful not to get anything on any of the clutch mating surfaces. That being pressure plate, flywheel and friction plate. Its easy to touch one with a grubby hand when doing this job.

Would also be prudent to give the clutch system a bleed to get fresh fluid in there.

I doubt he will have bleed it as thats not really normal practice when changing the unit.

I'm sorry to say that I've not ever heard of a clutch slipping when its been new.

You're quite alright to give the car some, just no hard launches or snap changes. :thumleft:

Changing the gearbox means essentially dropping the engine. You leave 1 engine mount on the car as 3 od them are on the gearbox. Might be worth going over them to check for tightness of bolts.
