Check that your master cylinder has 15/16 on the side of it. This is the piston size, and I do belive they're the same across the range of revisions.

There is a common assumption that you need to upgrade the master cylinder. But if the Rev1 is 15/16, then there is no reason. I know for 100% that my rev2 (bigger brakes) is a 15/16 MC

And the only difference between the brake hoses (flexi) is that the Rev1 is an inch longer. I assume this is becuase they're smaller discs etc so the connection is lower down. So in short, nothing other than the discs/pads/calipers needs to be changed if the MC is 15/16 on your Rev1.

Let us know as it will be good to get a definate answer.

you just need calipers, mounting brackets, disks, pads and dust shields (your own preference)

i hae rev3 bakes on my rev1, been on for 18 months now with no problems. the dust shields on the rev1 are smaller so foul on the disks, these can be bent inwards to clear or replaced :) all hoses are fine

there prob only a little shorter due to the caliper being further away from the hub, a small adjustment should sort that out. if i'm wrong please point it out as i'm doing this conversion in a few weeks

cheers karam

Its probs the same as the brike flexi lines being shorter. You might get a slight raised section in the part by the caliper, but you have a cable thats being pulled, so even if it went round the engine bay, you would still only pull the lever the same distance.

Just seen someone post something up on MR2OC.com about swapping MC's. I'm not sure what they were swapping from or too, but the figures I saw in the thread were 15/16 and 7/8 - so my guess is that the Rev1 MC is 7/8 and the Rev2+ is slightly bigger at 15/16

Would be good if you can confirm what is on the side of your rev1 MC :thumleft:
