[Mk2] [Turbo] Chug...chug...chug...chug...chug

Post by Muffleman »

Hi all,

Had a bit of a problem over the weekend, wondered if anyone could help.

Fitted the following on Saturday:
New AEM boost gauge
New AEM wideband AF gauge and sensor
3bar map sensor
Swapped Blitz ECU for stock ready for Emanage Ultimate.
Run a USB lead from the engine bay to the dash for the laptop

Fired it up and it was fine. So, wired in the emanage ultimate as it is supposed to create its own base map providing you wire in an AF sensor. Well, I put in all the parameters in the ecu for the car, turned it over and it fired up, and idled. Was running dead rich and chugged a bit.

This was late Sat night, so put it all back together and left the car til the Sunday. Tried firing it up the next day and it wouldn't, just flooded the car - pulled plugs out and they were wet ! (New NGK Iridiums gapped to 0.7) Figured the base map was just far too rich, so removed emanage and put stock ecu and lambda sensor back in. Figured I'd leave it until it was mapped properly.

Rarely fires up and floods the cylinders with fuel, plugs wet again. Any ideas why it's overfueling so bad ? I can get it to start sometimes but all it does is chug...chug...chug...chug...chug, and the accelerator does very little.

Could I have knackered the lambda sensor ? I also removed the afm\intake to run the usb lead, could it be afm ?

Cheers

Matt
PS. Get over this little hurdle and it's mapping time, looking forward to reporting the results back to you guys
